Shark Adoption Programme

Maxine shared her home at the Two Oceans Aquarium with four other ragged tooth sharks, Bella, Val, Dee and Billy. Their stay will enable extensive shark scientific research, and over the next two to three years they will each be returned to join Maxine back in the ocean. As part of the ongoing Maxine Science Programme we will be tagging each released shark.

A Fun and Educational way to get involved with Shark Conservation

Your symbolic adoption of a ragged tooth shark will help to support the first shark scientific research project on captive sharks being re-introduced into the wild. Along with other wild sharks tagged the information we gather will ultimately help us save the sharks of Africa. The funds will go towards the Save Our Seas Foundation M-Sea Programme, and the science component in particular, in order to assist us to reach our financial goal required to implement the programme and allow it to be sustainable.
